Omega 8006 Review

Omega 8006The Omega 8006 juicer is one of the best products of its kind. It is a double gear juicer and it is one of the best on the market. As we live in times of economic distress, most people look at the price before they consider purchasing anything. Well, those thinking about buying the Omega 8006 can rest assured that they would not be able to find anything better for the same money. In fact, its features are so good that it is better than juicers which cost twice as much. But let’s tell you more about the technical specifications and what this baby can do, so you can determine if our assessment is indeed correct.

The juicer has a very powerful commercial motor, which is easily replaced if something happens. The warranty is good for at least a decade, and the manufacturer had one thing in mind when warranty was assigned. They wanted to make this product so good that your kids would be able to use it long after you are no longer in the picture.

Now let’s get back to that motor. Even though it is quite strong, that power is harnessed so efficiently that the rotator will not exceed 80 rotations per minute (RPM). That means that the juicer will not over heat, it will not clog and, last but definitely not least, it will not make any foam. Anyone who has ever used a juicer knows how irritating it can be to get rid of all that foam. The Omega 8006 has no such problem.

The low RPM also means that there is an incredibly high juice yield. You don’t need to worry about having to stop every few minutes to get rid of all the pulp, because the auto pulp ejection function does that for you. If you still think the pricing is a bit too high for you, know that you can use the Omega 8006 for more than just juices.

Omega 8006 JuicerIn fact, it has received the Nutrition Center designation, meaning that you can also use it to grind coffee beans and flour, mix herbs and spices, make your own pasta and breadsticks, chop vegetables and more. If you have a baby, you can homogenize food for him or her, while also making yummy ice cream and smoothies. Your baby will enjoy these tasty dishes while you will get the satisfaction of making them at home.

If you are on a diet that requires you to drink a lot of juices, the Omega 8006 would undoubtedly become your best friend. In the simplest of terms, it is pure quality. It is built with nothing but quality materials that will last forever. Its blades are very sharp and treated with special substances that enable them to stay sharp for decades to come. And even if something happens, you have an amazing warranty that makes sure your product is repaired or replaced. The Omega 8006 juicer can open a world of culinary possibilities for you and your family. It can help you make juices and types of foods that you never thought you will be able to make on your own.

Omega 6006 Juicer

Buying a juicer seems like an easy task – but it is not.  We have so many factors to consider and most especially its value vs its cost.  Let us see what others have to say about this juicer:

Positive Feedbacks:

  • NW Shooter “Real Seattle Photographer” (Edmonds, WA USA)

I had the opportunity to experience juicing on a loaned Jack Lalanne’s JLSS Power Juicer Deluxe Electric Juicer, Stainless/Black. After juicing every day with it for over three weeks I realized I really was into juicing and it was not some new Gadget phase I was going through. So I did a ton of research and chose the Omega 8006.

The first thing I can tell you is this is not as noisy as the centrifuge juicer I tried (Jack L juicer). The sound is similar to an old hand mixer on low speed.

The second thing clean up took less time and was easier. Mainly the parts are smaller so they’re easier to clean thoroughly. There are no awkward nooks & crannies where food can get stuck. The Omega 8600 clean up involves four main parts. The (1) shoot the food comes down, (2) blade is really a big plastic drill-bit looking thing, (3) the part which determines is the stuff you are grinding going to come out in juice form or a more solid form (such as pasta or banana yogurt!), (4) and finally the collector bins – either or both depending upon what you are doing. It takes more time for me to get the hot water going than the length of time it takes to do the clean up for the Omega 8600.

Preparation is a bigger deal than with other juicers because the opening is much smaller. Some carrots for example had to be cut in 4ths to get it down the shoot. As one reviewer said with another Omega model, it gives you time to think about what you are preparing. The liquid output appears bolder/brighter and without foam compared to the centrifuge juicer.

It’s funny, I do notice I pause before preparing my juice to ponder would this be just as good for me if I were to sit and eat the orange, apple and carrots versus putting them into this machine and blend them. What enhances my experience with juicing is the other ingredients such as adding that bit of ginger – yum! When I was using the centrifuge, I thought more about if I had time to do the clean-up after.

The machine itself is sturdy. Having it in a place where you can add the ingredients easily rather than having it stuffed under the cabinet will enhance your access and ease of use.

I am VERY happy with the Omega 8600. It was difficult to wait the 3 weeks – I’m typically a want it now buyer. Mine showed up a few days earlier. I filled my time in cleaning out my refrigerator in preparing to integrate juicing in my diet.

See uploaded picture of my juicing station.

Finally one bit of advice.. No matter what kind of Juicer you acquire – CLEAN UP right after you juice, drink after – clean first! This prevents anything from WELDING to any parts later. Happy Juicing!”

“Since I got this juicer, I’ve used it daily.  First and foremost, if you’ve never juiced, you’re in for a dramatic change. Since I started juicing, my energy level has increased dramatically. The benefits of juicing have shocked and amazed me.

Secondly, if you’re going to juice, get this style, the masticating juicer rather than the centrifugal style. Yes, it is slower, but it’s also more efficient and less damaging to the juice. You will get more juice out of your produce. Importantly, you will also be able to juice greens such as kale, lettuce, herbs and so on.

This particular juicer is rock solid. I’m very impressed with it. The motor is very powerful and grinds up whatever you throw at it. It has a monster warranty. And what I like most is that it’s extremely easy to clean. I keep it next to my sink, since I use it multiple times a day, and I can have this thing cleaned and re-assembled in a little over a minute.”

Negative Feedbacks:

“I’ve had a centrifugal Omega 1000 juicer for 15 years. That is the only juicer I have experience with for comparison.

Pros :
Juices leafy greens.
Doesn’t jump around like the Omega 1000.
Quieter than the Omega 1000.
Easier to grind flax seeds than in a blender.
Reasonably priced.

Cons :
Feed chute is half the size of many other juicers. There doesn’t seem to be a good reason not to have a larger chute on this machine. For the money, this is a major drawback and typical of Omega juicers.

Pulp is fairly dry but not as dry as I was expecting. Putting pulp through a second time creates another couple ounces of juice.
The collection containers are cheap plastic. The juice collection container doesn’t have any ounce measurements on it so I’m guessing as to the ratio of the different vegetables going into the juice. I’m use to using a measuring cup with markings on it to collect the juice but one doesn’t fit under the juicer.

Cleaning takes almost as long as my old Omega 1000.

Large amounts of pulp in juice. About the same as if using the centrifugal Omega 1000 without a filter. I have to pour the juice through a strainer to remove the pulp.

Slow, but from what I’ve read, this is typical of single auger juicers.  Flax seeds have to be put through twice to thoroughly grind them.”

“First off, I wanted to say that this machine does a great job of making juice. I use mine anywhere from 2-3 times a day. It crunches through tough items like beets without indifference. I juice lots of green such as kale and spinach, and it provides a great amount of juice from these items. It really does a fantastic job.

Here is the major problem with this machine. After 8 months of using mine every day, my machine no longer made all juice. It was making a TON of FOAM, and i mean a ton. Half of a 20 ounce container would be filled with foam. I called Omega and the CS was great. They told me that the auger had worm, and this is why the machine was creating foam. They shipped out a new auger and I had it the very next day.

Most of the foam has now subsided, but there is still some being produced. This leads me to believe the strainer part that goes over the auger has also worn. I will call Omega back to let them know. Now let me ask all of you this. If these plastic augers and other parts are wearing down, then where are all those chemicals and plastic particles going? In our juice? This machine makes great juice, but the wear of these parts has me very concerned. I suppose I will be calling Omega every 8 months for replacement parts.”

You now have what they say about Omega 8006 Juicer, what do you think?
