Favorable Reviews:
- By Andrea Schaefer (OSHKOSH, WI, US)
“This vacuum is AMAZING! My husband and I had a Eureka Maxima, and it clogged all the time, lost suction (from the clogging), and the hose kept falling out. You can only blow a vacuum out so many times with an air compressor before you get sick of it. So, one night, we went shopping for a vacuum. We’ve wanted a Dyson for so long, and we pushed different models around the store for hours. We finally decided on this one.
Pros:
-Big canister makes it easy to vacuum for awhile without having to dump (this canister is also bigger than the Ball models).
-15 foot cord!!
-Quiet. Yes, this vacuum is quiet.
-Unmatched suction
-Picks up cat hair, dust, dander, dirt, and everything else without a hitch. You only have to go over a spot one time!
-Very, very long hose and attachments
-Easy to empty canister
Cons:
-Once you buy this vacuum, you will find it hard to stop using it!
Yes, this vacuum is pricey. But it is definitely worth the price. We have 4 long-haired, shedding, exploding cats. They have sterlite tubs as litter boxes and get litter everywhere. It gets into the carpet (we live in an apartment), behind baseboards, just everywhere. Our old vacuum picked up the surface litter but we just couldn’t get the embedded litter out no matter how hard we tried. Our house smelled like cat, even after scooping twice a day. We had no idea that a vacuum could take care of such a problem. We come home now and don’t smell cat, or cat litter. The carpet looks newer. The couch looks great!
This vacuum is worth it, I doubt you will be disappointed!”

“You get what you pay for. You want junk? Buy an inexpensive vaccuum cleaner. You want quality that will last for years to come? Buy a dyson. We are filling up our landfills when we buy a vaccuum cleaner once a year like I used to do.
Buying a dyson will make the landfills smaller and great for our planet. Less people throwing away their vaccuum cleaners every year. I owned a dyson dc14 model. I never had any problems and it never lost suction. I could see the hair and dust from my hardwood floors attract to my vaccum like a magnet.
The hair and dust would be 12 inches away and the stuff just flew accross the floor and right into the vaccuum. We have 2 large dogs and 4 cats and this vaccuum gets all the hair up. I even vaccuum my dog with it. lol. He likes it.
I had the dc14 model for a year before I had to replace it cause the dog chewed the cord. This dc33 model is just like the dc14. Looks the same and everything. The only thing I miss from my dc14 is the metal hose. The dc33 has a plastic hose. I would assume that it makes no difference.
Maybe the metal hose would last longer? Other than that I love the dc33 model just as much as the dc14 model. The dc33 model works exactly the same as the dc14 model and I have seen no problems. Great suction and everything. I will be a returning customer for life.”

“We’ve been using the DC33 multi-floor for a few months now, and I tend to agree with the overall content of many of the previous reviews.
PROS: The vacuum does have very powerful suction. It is reasonably light and carrying it from one floor to another is not a issue. When used as an upright it is quite maneuverable. It does a very good job on both hard floors (hardwood and tile) and carpet. Emptying the cannister is simple.
CONS: The wand attachment is so problematic that is almost useless. The coiled hose does not stay extended and I am constantly fighting it as it tries to retract itself. The vacuum will occasionally tip over as I fight the hose to clean under furniture and on the stairs. I find the hose so disappointing because I really like the vacuum otherwise. I would give it 3.5 stars if Amazon allowed fractions.”

“If you are completely bald you should be fine. However, if you or anyone in your family has hair you are in for a real treat when it comes to removing hair from the beater brush. The beater brush bar is not removable.
So, you’ll get to sit on the floor, and cut and pull hair off the brush bar. This is not the clever engineering I expect from the Dyson company. Removing hair from the beater bar is something everyone needs to do to maintain a vaccum, and there’s no easy way to do it with this model.
Also, if you displace the belt while trying to clean the brush beater bar you are in for another round of horror trying to get the belt back in the right spot on the bar. So annyoing.
The plastic parts holding the beater bar in place on each side are very fragile. It doesn’t take much force at all to render your $400 vaccum useless by simply trying to remove hair from the brushbeater bar.
There are lots of good things about it that others have mentioned here, but the beater bar issue is a deal breaker for me. Lesson learned.”
The customers who tried the product enumerated the pros and the cons already. But well, no product is perfect.
